Vahtpolüstüreen ehk standardikohase nimetusega EPS on kerge, jäik, plastvahul põhinev soojustusmaterjal. EPS 200 on hinna ja kvaliteedi suhte poolest üks efektiivsemaid soojusmaterjale. Soojustusplaadid on kerged, lihtsalt käsitletavad, ei kaota aja jooksul soojust isoleerivaid omadusi ega deformeeru ning samas omavad konstruktiivset tugevust. EPS 200 isolatsioonimaterjale kasutatakse nii uusehitistes kui ka ehitiste renoveerimisel. EPS-plaatidega võib hoone soojustada keldrist katuseni.
EPS 200 kasutuskohad:
väga suurelt koormatud betoonpõrandad (tootmishooned, külmhooned, laod)
plaatvundamendi suure koormusega osad (L-plokid)
lintvundamendi taldmiku soojustus (A-plokid)
garaazhid, autoparklad ja muud transpordirajatised (sillad, viaduktid)
Otse maapinnal paiknev plaatvundament, milles on nn servatugevdusega plaat, on tavaline väikeste ladude, garaažide ja ka eramute ehitamisel. EPS 200 isolatsioonimaterjal on vajalik plaadi all kogu pinna ulatuses. EPS hoiab ära kapillaarse niiskuse tõusmise ega lase pinnasest tuleval niiskusel tungida otse läbi plaadi siseruumidesse. Vundamendi ääretala alla tuleb paigutada õige survetugevusega isolatsioonimaterjal nagu EPS 200.
